ETHIOPIA - THE WORLD FINEST SUPREME TOURIST DESTINATION FOR 2015
Ethiopia was designated as the World Finest supreme Tourist Destination for 2015 and as the Favorite Cultural Destination in 2015 by European Council on Tourism and Trade (ECTT). Also, Prime Minister Hailemariam was also chosen as World Leader of Tourism and as member of European Tourism Academy. The titles were presented to Prime Minister Hailemariam Ethiopia, on July 9, at the National Palace.
Ethiopia is evolving at an astounding pace in some ways it is modern but there is room to grow and it is moving ahead. Ethiopia has made remarkable progress in the last decade as a democratic federal state. It is the safest place in all of Africa if not the World. Its people of religions of Muslim, Christianity and other faiths live closely, respectfully, and lovingly alongside each other as there is no religious supremacy in this holy land.
Drivers require a valid international drivers license which can be obtained by exchanging yours by local license at the transport and communications office. Visitors can recover their original license a day or so prior to departure. Those with their own vehicles shall get a permit from the ministry of transport and communications. Driving is on the right.
CURRENCY & REGULATIONS
The Local Currency is the Ethiopian Birr made up of 100 cents. Notes are in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 50 and 100 birr notes. There are six different coins: 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 1 birr. There is no limit to the amount of foreign currency imported to Ethiopia but it must be declared on arrival using a currency declaration form.
VISA AND IMMIGRATION REQUIREMENTS
Visa applications may be obtained at Ethiopian diplomatic missions abroad. Nations of some 33 countries are allowed are allowed to receive their tourist visa on arrival to Ethiopia at regular charge. These countries include: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, brazil, Canada, China, Check Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greek, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea Republic, Kuwait, Luxemburg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Korea, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russian, Federation, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and the United States of America.

Ethiopia is a land where its people are closest to nature. Life closely coincides daily between them and nature in all manners; all life intertwined with give and take and reciprocation with great respect.A Paradise for birds and more so a paradise for bird watchers, with more than 800 different species counted of which 16 are endemic and 14 semi-endemic because they are shared with Eritrea.

With an estimated population of some 70,000,000 inhabitants, Ethiopia is one of the most populated countries on the continent rendering it a significant demographic power in the continent. Ethiopia is the tenth largest country in Africa with a surface area of 1,194,000 square kilometers (461,003 square miles) lying in eastern Africa, between the equator and the tropic of Cancer, in a region known as the Horn of Africa. It is landlocked, bordered by five countries.
